Many boomers are healthier and expect to live longer than previous generations. Many also want to live in active retirement communities, assisted-living facilities geared for more active lifestyles or their own homes.
The more financial assets individuals have, the better position they will be in to hire caregivers who will to help maintain their independence.
Some resources that can help with these services are investments such as IRAs, annuities or personal savings; long-term care insurance; estate planning; and planned giving.
Sutter Tracy Community Hospital will host a workshop that will teach people born between 1946 and 1964 how to develop retirement income, how to take advantage of long-term care insurance and the benefits of in-home care.
