“Tracy is a perfect city for this kind of business, because we offer
activities that can be enjoyed by families.”

— Angie Long, founder of Color Me Mine pottery studio

A new pottery studio in Tracy plans to use its success to give back to the community.

Color Me Mine is a paint-your-own-pottery studio founded by Angie Long that opened May 31.

Long says it’s been a success, so far.

Color Me Mine welcomes walk-ins and offers “ladies nights” on Thursdays and paint-in-pajamas nights Fridays. It also caters to birthday parties and school events.

“Tracy is a perfect city for this kind of business, because we offer activities that can be enjoyed by families,” Long said.

Starting Monday, the public can submit painted dog bowls for the Give-a-Dog-a-Bowl contest. The bowls will be judged by local business and dog owners. The winner will be announced Aug. 16.

Color Me Mine’s ceramics are premade and use nontoxic paint. Pottery costs $5 and up. The store is in the Safeway shopping center, at West 11th Street and Corral Hollow Road.
