Antonette Torio Placido and Todd Alan Beatty are to be married in May 2010 in Monterey. They met each other working at Best Buy and have known each other for six years. They have officially been together for three years.

Antonette received a bachelor’s degree from California State University, San Jose, and continues to study for a second bachelor’s degree in microbiology. She works as a customer service manager in Pleasanton.

Her parents are Adolfo and Delilah Placido of Tracy. Her grandparents are Purificacion Torio and the late Julian “Jackson” Torio and Francisca Placido and the late Antonio Placido, all of the Philippines. Her brother is Aaron Placido of Tracy.

Todd attended Redwood High School and now works as an engineering project manager in Pleasanton. His parents are Ken and Phyllis Beatty of San Carlos. His brother is Michael Beatty of San Carlos.

The good-humored couple got engaged on April Fools’ Day. The engagement was announced to close family and friends on April 2.
