The sounds of springtime

This week’s calendar is peppered with chances to take in some local talent from musicians spanning the ages from elementary students to senior citizens.

The first is West High School’s spring music concert. The school’s choirs, bands and orchestra will perform tonight under the direction of Fredrick Russell.

Wicklund School’s band and choir will serenade audiences Thursday in Mountain House, and Delta Island Elementary’s band will take the stage the same evening at its school in rural Stockton.

Tracy Community Choir’s 100 singers will play alongside a four-piece band Saturday for its spring concert,  “Love is in the Air.” The non-auditioned choir is under the direction of Jennifer Grover and Rebekka Austin.

The inaugural Tracy Festival of the Arts will take over downtown Saturday and Sunday with music, art, food and wine. The festival will have two stages, one reserved for local bands.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the melodies.
