Gabriella Herrera

Young science buff heads to UCLA summit
West High School sophomore Gabriella Herrera will represent Tracy Unified School District as a delegate at the 2008 People to People Leadership Summit at University of California, Los Angeles, July 14 through 23. She was nominated by her eighth-grade GATE teacher to attend the summit.

She will conduct scientific experiments, learn leadership skills and meet with researchers and scientists during her 10-day stay.

Jaclyn Guzman

Jaclyn, a 2003 West High graduate, earned her bachelor’s degree from UCSC in 2007. She will begin this fall as a 10th-grade history teacher at Kehillah High School in Palo Alto.
