Gladys Schmolck celebrats her 105th birthday at Heritage Place

Gladys Schmolck celebrated her 105th birthday Monday with a party at Summerville at Heritage Place.

Born in San Francisco, Schmolck lived through the 1906 San Francisco earthquake that burned down 80 percent of the city. She later moved to Alaska, where she ran a retail store with her husband. She returned to California after his death.

At the ripe age of 105, Gladys can still walk fast and has a lively sense of humor. She outpaces her neighbors at Summerville and amazes them with her wit and strength.
